Business Analyst

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Nepal is seeking a full-time Business Analyst to join its Institutional Performance Management and Evaluation Unit (IPME) based in Kathmandu, Nepal. The position begins on September 1, 2025, and is offered as a fixed-term contract for 23 months, with the possibility of extension.

This role will support the Performance and Accountability Specialist in developing business requirements for a new Grant Management System. The analyst will help establish and refine processes, policies, and tools that enhance organizational performance and accountability. The unit plays a central role in implementing IUCN’s strategy by ensuring robust planning, performance tracking, and risk management practices across global operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of the IUCN Grant Management System
• Identify and document business requirements in collaboration with teams
• Prepare and manage product backlog items in line with agile methodology
• Assist developers throughout the software development lifecycle
• Conduct user acceptance testing and support solution validation
• Lead change management activities for successful system adoption
• Develop and maintain documentation for policies, processes, and knowledge bases
• Provide service desk support related to the new system

Eligibility to apply

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Certification in Business Analysis (such as CCBA or CBAP) is preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of practical experience in business analysis for software or systems development
• Knowledge of grant management, especially in the development or conservation sectors, is a plus
• Experience working in multicultural, international settings is desirable
• Familiarity with SCRUM methodology and product backlog management

• Effective business process mapping and documentation
• Team-oriented with cross-functional collaboration skills
• Results-driven with strong prioritization and organizational skills

• Proficiency in synthesizing and interpreting technical information

Preferred Knowledge:

• Experience supporting global organizations or donor-funded systems
• Knowledge of performance and assurance frameworks in international NGOs
