The Student Council of Thames International College, in collaboration with REkriti and the sustainability club, organized UPcycle Mela, an eco-friendly fashion show whose objective was to promote creativity and sustainability through fashion upcycling old jeans into trendy, usable items like pouches, tote bags, and sling bags.
Attendees brought their old denim for upcycling, where local tailors showed the upcycling process on site, which included cutting and stitching. The upcycling was done live with sewing machines, where students observed the upcycling process firsthand and helped design the patterns.

Special offers, like a 25 percent discount with a promo code, were provided to promote sustainable consumption, which helped build unity and environmental consciousness.
This event showcased the power of community-led eco-initiatives, demonstrating how small, creative actions, fueled by collective support and teamwork, can lead to meaningful results and reinforce a commitment to a greener, more sustainable future.
