The Nepal Social Work Symposium 2025, organized by the Social Club of Thames International College, focusing on the World Social Work Day 2025 theme: “Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Enduring Wellbeing.” started today which is a two-day event which explores the crucial link between intergenerational solidarity and wellbeing, highlighting its importance for lasting community health.
Day 1 started with an engaging Art and Photo Exhibition, a vibrant display of different types of creative expression. Students from the pre-symposium event shared their stories in unique ways through embroidery, photography, poems, and songwriting, truly showcasing creative storytelling.

The day concluded with a moving theatre performance titled “Muktighaat” by the Thames Theatre Club. This powerful play explored trauma from an intergenerational perspective, specifically focusing on mental health through after-life dialogues between a son and his father, leaving a strong impression on everyone who watched.

Day 2 continues at the Thames Auditorium with "Dialogue, Identity & Digital Shifts." The morning session presents a panel discussion titled “Journey from Community Radio to TikTok: Generational Shifts in Communication, News Consumption, and Storytelling,” featuring panelists Aakriti Ghimire, Sita Mademba, and Deepesh Tripathi, moderated by Suraj Subedi.
The afternoon session, features a second panel discussion on queer identity, lived experiences, and community care, with panelists Raji Manjari Pokhrel, Ruksana Kapali, and Sushoban Chimoriya, moderated by SJ. The symposium fosters reflection, engagement, and transformative conversations on identity and storytelling in the digital age.
